THE FOUNDER
Hello there, I’m Mya. My journey to nutrition began long before I ever stepped into a college classroom. I grew up playing basketball every day, which taught me discipline but also opened my eyes to the importance of fueling my body well. In high school and college, I faced periods of food insecurity and struggled with weight changes, acne, and finding affordable meals that actually made me feel good.
Those challenges pushed me into the kitchen. I started researching healthy, budget-friendly groceries, planning weekly shopping trips, and discovering how cooking from scratch could change everything — my energy, my confidence, and my well-being.
That curiosity and determination eventually led me to pursue and earn my Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science and Dietetics, from Cal State University, San Bernardino. There I learned how to combine evidence-based nutrition with real-life, practical cooking skills.
Today, as the founder of Good Eats Nutrition, I’m committed to helping young people build those same life-changing skills. I believe every child deserves joy at the table, confidence in the kitchen, and connection through food. Through fun, nutrition-based cooking classes, I help kids and teens laugh, learn, and grow — because when a child gains confidence in the kitchen, the whole household changes, one meal at a time.
